Mike originally designed our P4 with the idea of replacing his personal 1964 P-Bass to play at gigs. After decades of refining the recipe, he felt he finally achieved his goal.

The P5 is an uncompromising 5-string version with close attention to the string-to-string balance and overall sonic representation.

Also, if you’re looking to add a little extra J-type versatility to your P4 or P5, you can make it a PJ by adding a Hum-Cancelling Jazz Pickup in the Bridge (this option can be found in the P4/P5 Order Forms).
