In celebration of over 20 years of creating the very best in
active pickups and accessories, EMG has created The Pro
Series, a tribute to some of award-winning artists that have chosen EMG as
part of their sound. Together these artists - David Gilmour, Steve Lukather, Kirk Hammett,
and Vince Gill - have not only won awards and fame, but have redefined the palette of
sounds in their music. We're proud that they've chosen EMG products to make that sound.
You can customize any guitar with our easy-to-install complete pickup and accessory kits, but we make it even easier with the Pro Series. Each Pro Series model comes completely pre-wired on a custom pickguard, ready for an easy installation on your Stratocaster*-style guitar body. The system comes complete with pickups, a 5-way selector switch, and master volume. Finally, each configuration comes with either standard passive EMG tone controls or one of our powerful active EQ circuits.
The DG20 honors David
Gilmour, the incredible guitarist of Pink Floyd. The most
feature packed of the Pro Series pickguards, the DG20
includes three active pickups and two active EQ controls.
Steve Lukather is a well known studio
guitarist as well as the guitarist of Toto. The SL20, his
signature system, includes two special SL57 pickups which are
available only with this Pro Series setup.
Metallica is probably the best known hard
rock band around. EMGs are a key part of Kirk Hammett's sound and it's
captured in the KH20 System. If you're looking for sheer,
searing power, this is the answer.
Our newest addition to the Pro Series line
brings you Kirk Hammett's favorite combination - a pair of powerful
EMG-81 humbuckers for classic metal crunch. There's nothing like the KH21

Grammy Award Winner Vince Gill is not only
a great singer, but a hot lead guitarist as well! His distinctive solo sound - powered by
EMG - is a highlight of those award winning singles and albums he's put out. You can
capture the new sounds of country with the VG20 System, just
like Vince does.
The Pro Series Systems celebrate classic EMG sounds. We
created the YNH20 System around our new SAV
pickups which are so tasty they justify their own spotlight! Get one and create your own
legend!
Each system is built on a beautiful custom pickguard. The screw hole and body routing configuration are an exact match for the Fender American Strat Plus body, but will work with almost any Strat-type body. In most cases, no extra body routing will be required, even with the onboard 9V battery included.
