"Ever check out the bridge pickup on a '53
butterscotch-blonde? It's not clean or shiny or new looking. In fact, it's downright ugly.
That's because it's probably spent night after night on a wooden stage in a cigarette
smoke-filled club under a guy's sweaty wrist pounding out the scariest guitar tone around.
It's got grime and sweat and smoke impregnated deep into the bobbin. The lacquer has
thinned and the magnets have discolored. The coil wire and insulation have been tempered
by the surge of thousands of hours of electricity; and it may have even blocked a flying
beer bottle or two. To some, it's not a pretty sight. To me, however, it's as beautiful as
the Mona Lisa".
"My name is Seymour W. Duncan and I build guitar pickups. I've been doing it for a
long time and I'm really proud of the products I've created. I'm pleased to make available
a limited series of guitar and bass pickups that will be closer to the real thing than
anything else made in the last thirty years. It's called Antiquity".
Antiquity: designed to look, sound, smell and taste like a 35 year-old pickup should.
Humbuckers
1014-01 Humbucker, Neck I made
this model to look and sound like a well-worn '50s humbucker as originally designed by
Seth E. Lover. The pickups are built to traditional standards. Each has its own character
and DC resistance, just like the originals. I wanted to give the player a pickup that
looks like it's been played regularly for 40 years, so I aged the nickel silver cover and
the poles. Included is a front-tapered mounting ring and the screws that go with it. The
pickup is not wax potted, which retains the vintage sound and appearance. Crafted by hand
in my "Antiquity" room, each pickup is signed on the magnet and bottom plate to
guarantee you are getting an original Seymour W. Duncan Antiquity.
1014-05 Humbucker, Bridge Like the neck position model, the
bridge position humbucker is a faithful replica of the great sounding "patent applied
for" humbuckers that Seth E. Lover designed in 1955. The pickup comes with slight
variations in DC resistance, just like the old ones. I decided to wind the bridge pickup a
little hotter and better balanced for its position. The mounting ring is slightly higher
for the increased pickup height. The pickup is not wax potted to retain the sound and
appearance of the originals. Again, each pickup is built by hand in my
"Antiquity" room and every magnet and bottom plate are signed to guarantee that
you are getting an original Seymour W. Duncan Antiquity. Hookup wire includes the
classic braided "push back" cloth braid wire.

Bridge "Soapbar," black cover
1034-63 & -64 Neck and Bridge "Soapbar," cream cover
1034-65 & -66 Neck and Bridge "Dog Ear" cover
Imagine the pickups out of an old '52 gold top or a '59 ES-330. By removing the
cover you'll find the same hand-fabricated bobbins, wire and "flatback" tape
that was used in the originals. Two specially calibrated Dun-Aged Alnico II magnets
are attached to a precision metal spacer which transfers the magnetic field to the strings
via six fillister head pole pieces. The "soapbar" version is available with
black or cream covers. The "dog ear" version comes with an aged thermoformed
black cover tha looks great! All versions have an authoritative, vintage tone.

Pickups for Stratocaster® Guitars
1024-01 Custom Bridge for
Strat®
I wound this pickup hotter for added output and fullness. Like my Texas Hot, this
pickup is both magnetically and physically aged to sound and look like a '50s pickup but
with an added punch. Each comes with a specially aged cover. I don't just mold my covers
with custom colors so that they look old. The magnets are calibrated and the coils are
wound "top going" with North polarity, the same as the early vintage models.
Each pickup comes complete with screws, schematics, and vintage "push back"
cloth braid hookup wire.
1024-02 Texas Hot for Strat®
For years now I've been custom-making these pickups for my friends and special artist
friends. Each Texas Hot is carefully assembled and hand-wound like the traditional
classics. Careful attention to details like scatter-winding ensures that the Texas Hot
looks and sounds like a classic Strat® should. I make them for the player wanting the
closest re-creation of a vintage pickup. Period. The magnets are calibrated and the coils
are wound "top going" with "north" magnetic polarity, the same as the
early vintage models. Each cover is individually aged: not just injection molded with
custom colored plastics. Each pickup comes complete with screws, schematics and vintage
"push back" cloth braid hookup wire.

Pickups and Hardware for Telecasters®
1024-21 Neck (Rhythm) Pickup
for Telecaster®
This neck pickup for Telecaster® guitars is wound as a full-sounding rhythm
pickup. It comes with an aged, deep drawn cover for vintage looks and added coil
protection. The neck pickup comes with schematic and mounting screws. Each pickup
re-creates the look and sound of an aged early '50s pickup. The pickup comes complete with
screws, schematics and vintage "push back" cloth braid hookup wire.
1024-22 Bridge (Lead) Pickup
for Telecaster®
I have a great time re-creating the beauty of an early '50s lead pickup
Tele®. Using vintage techniques, each pickup is hand-fabricated and scatter-wound. All
parts of the pickup are aged and given the look of a pickup played for 40 years! Like the
originals, the ferrous bottom plates are not wax-potted for that "breakin'-up Tele
twang tone" that's just on the verge of feedback. The pickups are Dun-Aged and
come with mounting hardware, schematics, and tons of tone! The hookup wire is the classic
"p back" cloth braid wire.
1024-27 1955 Bridge (Lead)
Pickup for Telecaster® (raised D & G pole)
After early production of the flat pole lead pickup for Telecaster®, the pickups were
manufactured with a raised D & G pole for better string response and output. These
classic pickups had great sound too, and I wanted to re-create the look and sound of this
classic.

Hand machined from the best brass musical alloy. Made for the great sustain and fullness
of each note. These saddles are aged like they've been played for 40+ years. The

Replacement Pickups for Other Fender® Guitars
1034-01 & -02 Neck and
Bridge Pickup for Duo-Sonic®
I've always liked pickups on a Duo-Sonic® because of their clarity and smooth
tone. The neck pickups are wound "top going" with a North magnetic polarity. The
bridge pickups are wound "top coming" with a South magnetic polarity. When used
in combination with each other, the two will be hum-canceling. The pole pieces are flush
with the top and slightly protruding from the bottom. They are specially hand-wound and
come with mounting screws. Hookup wire is the classic "push back" cloth braid
wire.
1034-21 & -22 Neck and
Bridge Pickup for Jaguar®
The neck position is wound "top going" and North polarity. The bridge
position is wound "top coming" and South polarity. When used in combination with
each other the pickups will be hum canceling. Both pickups have the traditional pole
spacing. The magnets are protruding from the top and bottom of the flatwork for a smooth
even response. Each pickup is recreated to fit in your old classic and comes with
schematic and mounting screws. Hookup wire is the classic "push back" cloth
braid wire.
1034-31 & -32 Neck and
Bridge Pickup for Jazzmaster®
The neck position is wound "top going" and North polarity. The
bridge position is wound "top coming" and South polarity. When used in
combination with each other the pickups will be hum-canceling. Both pickups have the
traditional pole spacing. The magnets are protruding from the top and bottom of the
flatwork for a smooth even response. Each pickup is recreated to fit in your old classic
and comes with schematic and mounting screws. Hookup wire is the classic "push
back" cloth braid wire.
