Mike Lull T-Bass Pickups and Pickup Rings are now available for your bass!
I have owned 15 Thunderbird* basses from the sixties over the last 30 years and none of them sound as good as the T-Bass. There was always something wrong with the originals. Yes they definitely rock, but most of them lacked the high end response that gives articulation. They didn't balance well at all when you had them on your lap or on a strap.
Being a bolt-on neck, the T-Bass has the brightness and articulation the originals were lacking. I also wanted to make sure that the bass would intonate. The bridges on the originals were not wide enough to allow the saddles enough travel to intonate. I wanted to keep the same classic look and tonality so I developed a bridge that was slightly wider and intonates correctly. The T-bass also balances perfectly without a hint of headstock dive.
The heart and soul of this bass are the pickups. The original pickups sounded like nothing else available then or today. We set out to exactly recreate these iconic pickups and have duplicated the tone of the era.
The T-Bass is the best sounding Thunderbird* that I never owned.
