Now it is time to select the fret wire and prep it for the instrument. The fretwire is inserted into a roller mechanism and bent to the same radius as the fingerboard. This is very important.
The fretwire has to be the same radius as the fingerboard to insure a tight and even seat in the fret slot.
The fretwire is cut to match a particular slot. Each piece is set aside in an organizer.
The fingerboard radiused is double checked for consistency and a light coat of paste wax is applied to the fingerboard.
The wax helps with cleaning up any excess glue that may spill out of the fret slots. Glue won't stick to the wax.
