After all the frets are removed. a small amount of water thin superglue is flowed into the fret slot. This will solidify any splinters at the slots edge and to keep any of the fingerboard wood from peeling out during the leveling process.

There was a small upturn at the end of this guitars fingerboard. This will have to be planed out. Inlays on the fingerboard are a concern as they are very thin and if we were to level the fingerboard with the inlay in place, there would be nothing left of the inlay. The mother of pearl inlays are heated with a standard light bulb and very carefully removed.

The top of the guitar is covered with some cardboard to protect it from damage. This is standard procedure with every guitar.
