Super 400 Re-fret

Re-fretting a vintage guitar is our forte'. It is a very labor intensive job that requires great attention to detail. The following pictures are a quick synopsis of what goes into this project.

The benefits of new frets are many: more sustain, better intonation, and easier string bending to name a few. There is no better feeling then a guitar or bass with new frets!

The following information is not meant to be instructional in its content. This work should only be done by a competent, professional luthier!

This is a 1961 Gibson Super 400 with an ebony fingerboard with binding. It will be re-fretted with Dunlop 6150 fret wire. This wire is slightly taller then the original, but is the same width.

The first thing that we look at is the overall neck condition and make sure the trus-rod is operating properly.
